How Much EVERBRITE Do I Need?

What do I need to refinish my project?

For Painted Metal or unpainted Metal that is outside like copper roofs, sculptures, gutters, you will need Everbrite Protective Coating. Everbrite is recommended for these because of the extra U.V. protection.   You will need EZ Prep Cleaner and Neutralizer to clean chalky oxidation or to neutralize acid based polishes.  

For Interior Metal or metal that will be handled frequently like railings or door handles, use ProtectaClear. ProtectaClear is also recommended for metal in a marine environment because it is highly resistant to salts and chlorines.  ProtectaClear is tough and durable and has excellent adhesion to bare metal.    

EVERBRITE Coatings are very economical because of the excellent coverage. EVERBRITE Coatings will cover about 1000 square feet at .5 mil wet film thickness. It protects very well at this thickness and will still be able to expand and contract with the substrate. EVERBRITE Coatings have an indefinite shelf life in a closed container so if you have some left over, you will still be able to use it in the future.

You can purchase EVERBRITE Coatings in 5 Gal. cans, Gallons, Quarts, Pints and 4 oz. cans. EVERBRITE is also available in 2 sizes of aerosol cans for hard to reach places or for touchup.

WHAT DO I NEED TO REFINISH SELF STORAGE DOORS or METAL SIDING?

There are kits available but if your project is newer and don't have heavy oxidation or marks that should be removed, Tuff Prep may not be needed and are optional. EZ Prep must be used on painted surfaces to insure that all residue is removed. Rinse well with water until the water sheets off and there are no bubbles left on the surface. Make sure that there are no areas where the water beads up on the surface.

HOW TO FIGURE SQUARE FOOTAGE OF SIDING

The best way to figure how much you need is to figure out one wall at a time. Multiply the width by the height. If the wall is 60 feet long and is 10 feet tall, that is 600 feet. If the front of your home is 24 feet by 10 feet, that is 240 feet. Add 2 walls of 600 feet and 2 walls of 240 feet minus window space. The total wall space would be 1480 square feet minus an average of 300 sq. ft. of window space.

You can also refinish garage doors, sheds, awnings, railings, window extrusions, and many other items. Wood siding or repainted surfaces tend to use more, so you may want to purchase a little extra.

Coverage for EVERBRITE Coating: 1 Gallon -1000-1200 square feet, 1 Quart - 300 square feet, 1 Pint - 150 square feet, 4 oz. Can Everbrite - 25-30 square feet.
